
Revolve Clothing is a high-end online fashion boutique that has become popular amongst trendsetters and fashion lovers. In 2008, Revolve made the decision to launch Forward, an exclusive ecommerce site aimed to attract fashion conscious consumers.
Unlike Revolve, the design and development of Forward was kept completely inhouse. I worked closely with the creative team to design everything from the Forward logo to the shopping cart. The challenge was to come up with an intuitive user-interface that could boast an array of luxury products. Since one of Forward's greatest assets is its amazing collection of up-and-coming brands, the site also needed to familiarize users with lesser known designers.
We met these challenges by keeping the overall interface clean and basic. A few details, such as the signature violet color, were used to set Forward apart from all the other clothing boutiques on the web. These decisions allowed the site to effectively showcase gorgeous product photos and let the quality of the clothing speak for itself. A "Designer" section was also made to introduce users to independent designers and give them insight on brand collections. Though we were on a tight schedule, the team took the time to discuss and collaborate on all aspects of the site.
Since its launch date, Forward has been well received by the public and was able to attract 30 more designers to its brand list within the first 6 months.
